A private label matcha project succeeds or fails on the raw material behind it. Wholesale Matcha, operated by IMPACT, supplies certified organic matcha in bulk to brands, formulators, distributors and food businesses across the European Union, at a public price per kilogram, with batch documentation and stock held in Europe. This page sets out what we supply, which documents you receive, and what stays your responsibility once the powder leaves our warehouse.
We are not an agency, a formulator or a packing house. We supply raw material that is certified, traced and documented. That is the whole service, and it is deliberate: you keep control of your brand, your packaging and your margin.
In short
- Three certified organic matcha references, in 10 kg and 20 kg bags, held in stock in Europe.
- Minimum order of one bag per reference, with no minimum order value and no minimum number of references.
- One public price per kilogram per reference, identical for professionals and individuals, visible without an account.
- Documents on request: technical data sheet, certificate of analysis, organic certificate and allergen statement.
- No contract packing, no label printing and no brand creation. Packaging, labelling and finished product compliance remain with you.
What we supply, and where our scope ends
Private label matcha works when the material is documented and the responsibilities are clear from the first enquiry. Most friction in this market comes from vague promises. Ours are narrow and precise.
What we supply
Three organic matcha references, sold by the bag, from stock held in Europe. Each one carries the same certification set: Regulation (EU) 2018/848, Soil Association certification under control body code GB-ORG-05, kosher certification, vegan certification, and halal compatibility without halal certification. None of the references are irradiated, treated with ethylene oxide or produced from genetically modified material, and none carry residual solvent. All three comply with Regulation (EU) 2023/915 on maximum levels for heavy metals, mycotoxins, nitrates and PAH. Every delivered batch comes with a certificate of analysis, the document your own quality system will want on file.
What stays with you
Retail or service packaging, pack design, label artwork and printing, nutritional declarations, health and nutrition claims, the organic certification of your own finished product, and the compliance of that product on every market you sell into. We do not offer contract packing, label printing or brand creation, and we do not subcontract them on your behalf. If your finished product will carry organic terms, your own operation must hold organic certification, and the control body code printed on your pack will be your certifier's code, not ours. We supply the material and its paperwork. The finished product is yours.
Choosing the right grade for your application
Matcha is not one product. Fineness, colour, bitterness and analytical profile decide which grade belongs in which format, and paying ceremonial grade prices inside a flavoured latte powder is money you never recover. The full range sits on our range page; below is the practical mapping.
Ceremonial grade: drinking matcha and premium retail
Japanese shaded cultivation, 70 mesh, and a profile built for water and a whisk. Use it where the customer drinks the matcha as matcha: tins, sachets and cafe menus. At 134.20 EUR per kg it belongs in the most premium position you sell.
Grade AA stone ground: blends, capsules and gifting
Stone ground and hand-picked from the Yabukita cultivar, at 1000 US mesh, the finest of the three. That fineness suits blends where suspension matters, capsule filling and gift formats. At 81.40 EUR per kg it sits between the two extremes.
Culinary grade: volume production and flavour systems
80 mesh, higher fibre and iron, and the lowest cost per kilogram of the range at 32.26 EUR per kg. Use it in flavoured blends, bakery, ice cream, ready-to-drink formats and any application where fruit, dairy or sweetener carries the flavour and matcha supplies colour and character.
The table compares the three references on origin, fineness and the analytical figures that matter for labelling and formulation.
| Reference | Origin and processing | Fineness | Key analytical figures | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha Japan | Japan, shaded cultivation | 70 mesh | Moisture under 8 percent, protein 29 g per 100 g, fibre 30 g per 100 g, caffeine 2371 mg per 100 g, EGCG 2070 mg per 100 g | Drinking matcha, retail tins, cafe menus |
| Organic Grade AA Matcha Stone Ground | China, Yabukita cultivar, shaded cultivation, hand-picked, stone ground | 1000 US mesh | Moisture 7 percent or less, ash 8 percent or less, protein 25.7 g per 100 g, energy 1613 kJ / 380 kcal per 100 g | Blends, capsules, gifting formats |
| Organic Culinary Grade Matcha | China | 80 mesh | Moisture under 7 percent, ash under 8 percent, protein 21 g per 100 g, fibre 35 g per 100 g, caffeine 1768 mg per 100 g, EGCG 4850 mg per 100 g, iron 20.3 mg per 100 g equal to 145 percent NRV | Flavoured blends, bakery, drinks, volume production |
Regulatory obligations that sit with your finished product
Three rules decide whether a matcha finished product can be sold legally in the European Union. We cannot apply them to your product for you, but we can tell you exactly where the boundaries are, because the raw material data we publish is what your compliance work is built on.
The 800 mg EGCG limit per daily serving
Commission Regulation (EU) 2022/2340 sets a limit of less than 800 mg of EGCG per daily portion for foods and food supplements containing green tea catechins. The limit applies to the finished product and per daily serving, not per kilogram of raw material. The calculation therefore belongs in your formulation file: take the EGCG concentration of the reference you use, work out how many milligrams one serving delivers, and confirm the day total stays below 800 mg. The ceremonial reference carries 2070 mg of EGCG per 100 g and the culinary reference 4850 mg per 100 g, so the headroom differs sharply between grades. Do the arithmetic before you fix the serving size, not after.
The mandatory caffeine mention
Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 sets out caffeine labelling duties in Annex III. Where caffeine is added to a food supplement for a physiological purpose, the label must carry the statement that the product contains caffeine and is not recommended for children or pregnant women, in the same field of vision as the product name, with the caffeine content expressed per recommended daily portion. Matcha is a different case: the caffeine is natural rather than added, but it is present in quantity. The ceremonial reference contains 2371 mg of caffeine per 100 g and the culinary reference 1768 mg per 100 g. If you build a supplement, you need a caffeine figure per serving you can defend, and you need to know whether your formula triggers the additional statement. We give you the raw figure; the decision is yours.
Organic labelling and the certifier body code
Under Regulation (EU) 2018/848, the code number of the control body must appear on the labelling of every product that uses organic terms. The EU organic logo is mandatory for prepacked organic food, and where the logo appears the origin of the agricultural raw materials must sit in the same visual field, as EU Agriculture, non-EU Agriculture or EU/non-EU Agriculture. Our references hold Soil Association certification under code GB-ORG-05. That code describes our material and our documentation; it does not transfer to your pack. The code on your finished product is the code of the control body that certifies your operation. Buyers in Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands work under the same Regulation with their own certifiers, and the sequence never changes: certified material in, certified operator out.
Certificate of analysis: what the document proves
Certificates are only useful when they match the bag in front of you, so ours describe a specific batch rather than a generic product. Each delivered batch of organic matcha carries a certificate of analysis setting out the analytical parameters published on the reference page and the tests behind the contaminant compliance statement. At enquiry stage we can send the technical data sheet, the organic certificate and the allergen statement; the certificate of analysis follows for the batch allocated and delivered to you.
A certificate of analysis is evidence about a raw material, not about your finished product. It becomes part of your evidence trail once your own supplier approval and, where relevant, your own certification process has accepted it.
Documents you can request:
- Technical data sheet for each reference.
- Certificate of analysis of the delivered batch.
- Organic certificate, Regulation (EU) 2018/848, Soil Association code GB-ORG-05.
- Allergen statement.

Best-before date and storage
All three references carry a best-before date of 24 months from the production date, printed on the bag. That period describes the product inside an unopened bag, stored as the specification assumes: dry, closed, out of direct light, away from heat sources and away from strong odours. Matcha is a fine powder with a large surface area and it takes on moisture and aromas quickly. The moisture limits sit under 8 percent on the ceremonial reference, at 7 percent or less on Grade AA and under 7 percent on culinary, and they are the figures your own checks can compare against when a bag arrives.
Once a bag is opened for sampling or production, the 24 month clock and the specification no longer describe what is inside. If you start with one bag per reference, plan how quickly you will use it and how you will close it between runs. Buyers running several retail lines on one reference are better served by a rotation they can date and a reorder schedule that keeps the material moving.
Why a public price per kilogram simplifies your cost of goods
Most bulk matcha pricing is quoted, negotiable and conditional. Ours is not. Every reference has one price per kilogram, published, identical for professionals and individuals, with no tiered grid, no negotiation and no account required to see it.
For a private label project, that changes the shape of the planning work. Your cost of goods becomes an input you already know rather than an output you discover after a quotation round:
- Divide the price per kilogram by 1000 to get the cost of one gram of raw material.
- Multiply by the grams of powder in a serving to get the material cost per serving.
- Multiply by servings per unit and units per batch to get the raw material cost of the run.
That is the whole calculation, and it runs before you design the pack, before you print the label and before you commit to a serving size. The spread between grades is visible on the first line of the spreadsheet, which is where grade decisions belong. The full list, with the per kilogram breakdown for each reference, is on our matcha price per kg page.
Public pricing on the three organic references, per bag and per kilogram.
| Reference | Bag | Price per bag | Price per kilogram | Minimum order |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha Japan | 10 kg | 1342.00 EUR | 134.20 EUR | 1 bag |
| Organic Grade AA Matcha Stone Ground | 20 kg | 1628.00 EUR | 81.40 EUR | 1 bag |
| Organic Culinary Grade Matcha | 20 kg | 645.20 EUR | 32.26 EUR | 1 bag |
Ordering, delivery and payment for EU buyers
Orders are placed by the bag, with a minimum of one bag per reference. We hold stock in Europe and dispatch the same day for orders validated before 12:00. Delivery runs at 3 to 5 working days for mainland France, 5 to 8 working days for the European Union, which covers Germany, the Netherlands and Ireland, and 6 to 10 working days for Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Delivery is free from 500 EUR excluding tax of goods for mainland France and the European Union.
Professionals established in the European Union outside France with a valid and verified intracommunity VAT number are exempt from French VAT, provided the number is verified before invoicing. Payment is on order, and bank transfer is possible on volume orders. Tell us your VAT number and your delivery country at the enquiry stage, and nothing is left to resolve once the bags ship. See shipping and returns for the operational detail.
How to start a private label matcha project with us
- Compare the three references and pick a grade for each application. If you are unsure, choosing your matcha supplier and our matcha B2B page set out the criteria buyers use.
- Write to contact@wholesale-matcha.eu with your application, the reference you are considering and your delivery country, and ask for the technical data sheet and the organic certificate.
- Order one bag of the reference you want to test, then validate it on your own line, at your own serving size, in your own packaging.
- Plan your reorder against the 24 month best-before date and the order cut-off at 12:00.

Frequently asked questions
For anything this page does not cover, the frequently asked questions page goes deeper into ordering, delivery and paperwork.
What is the minimum order for private label matcha?
One bag per reference, whichever reference you choose. There is no minimum order value and no obligation to order several references at once. A 10 kg or 20 kg bag is the smallest unit we ship, and it is enough for a pilot run or a market test.
Can you pack the matcha under my brand and print my labels?
No. We supply bulk powder only. Contract packing, label printing and brand creation are not part of our service, and we do not present them as optional extras. You take the material and the documents; packaging, labelling and finished product compliance stay in your hands.
Can I see the certificate of analysis before I place an order?
The technical data sheet, the organic certificate and the allergen statement are available on all three references before you order. The certificate of analysis describes one specific batch, so we send it for the batch allocated and delivered to you. Ask at contact@wholesale-matcha.eu.
Can I put the EU organic logo on my own packaging?
Only if your own operation is certified organic under Regulation (EU) 2018/848. The logo and the control body code on your pack come from your certification, not from ours. Our Soil Association code GB-ORG-05 documents the material we sell; it does not certify your finished product.
How does the 800 mg EGCG limit affect my supplement formula?
The limit applies to your daily serving, not to our raw material. Take the EGCG figure published on the reference page, convert it to the grams per serving you intend to formulate, and confirm the day total stays below 800 mg. That calculation belongs in your product file.
Do you deliver to Ireland, Germany and the Netherlands, and how does VAT work?
Yes. European Union delivery runs at 5 to 8 working days, with free delivery from 500 EUR excluding tax of goods. Professionals established in the EU outside France with a valid and verified intracommunity VAT number are invoiced without French VAT.
